Career Transitions Department

You cannot connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

–Steve Jobs

The Career Transition Department is working closely with students on developing their strengths, skills and areas of interests to help student match these key areas with a career that will help them provide for themselves and their families. We have collaborated with Vocational Services to provide students with an opportunity to examine the steps that need to be in place for them to reach their goals of:

LIVING- Where they would like to live upon completion of high school and how they can go about affording the items they wish to have in the future.

LEARNING- What are the steps involved in getting the training the need for their career, either on job training, an apprenticeship program or community college will be examined and what they need to be ready for their career.

WORKING- What are the skills that they will have to have in order to be successful. Students have been working on the process for applying for a job both online and paper copies, developing a cover letter, resume and thank you letter to employers. Researching different types of careers.
