I spent my last 7 years teaching Special Education at Crestview Elementary in West Des Moines, where I enjoyed working with students in reading, writing, math and behavior. I truly appreciated the dynamics that young children bring to the classroom. 2017-2018 will be my first year at Scavo, and I'm excited to teach my favorite subject, math! I look forward to becoming part the Scavo family and as well as part of this full-service community school.

I graduated from Iowa State with a BS in Elementary Education with endorsements in K-8 mathematics and K-8 Special Education. Recently, I finished my Masters Degree at Grand View University in Urban Education and Teacher Leadership. When I'm not teaching, I love to travel with my teacher Husband, spend time with our cats, read and sew/quilt.
